Hello all! I’ve left Virginia for Seoul, South Korea for a year tour over here with the 8th Army Band. I’ve been gone for over a week now (hard to believe), and have been in country since last Wednesday. I’m 13 hours ahead of EST (Eastern Standard Time). It’s late and I won’t post much right now, but wanted you all to know that I’m safe and getting settled in nicely. I’m being put up in a small apartment in downtown Seoul (near Itaewon) that’s very nice and not a far walk to work (cars aren’t practical here). Even if I had a car, I’m not sure I’d brave these streets- these drivers make my experience driving on the BQE in rush hour traffic seem like a Sunday drive in the country. This traffic and these drivers are unbelievable. It’s amazing that most cars aren’t dented and scratched. People here have a confident sense of exactly how big their cars are, and make the most of every millimeter (and I mean that literally).
Will post pics of my car ride downtown in Seoul and my apartment just as soon as I can- it’ll be a little crazy for the next few days though. Just glad to be here and getting settled so soon- God is in control indeed!
